Perplexity just launched Sonar and Sonar Pro API’s.
Will it be possible to use them with InfoFlow?

Hi Ted,
Thanks for reaching out and for your excellent question!
Yes, we are aware of Perplexity’s new Sonar and Sonar Pro APIs. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Currently, to use Perplexity with InfoFlow, you would need to configure it using the OpenAI custom endpoint option, as detailed in Perplexity’s documentation here: https://docs.perplexity.ai/guides/getting-started. As they mention, their API is designed to be OpenAI client-compatible, which allows for this integration.
We do plan to add direct support for Perplexity as a provider within InfoFlow in a future update to make the setup process even easier.
Thanks again for your suggestion!
Best regards,
Mike
Wow, that seems workable - I am a newbie at this.
Can you tell me if I’m on the right track here? The API key is the one I purchased (Sonar) but I’m not sure about the OpenAI model.
Thank you so much for the advice!
Hi Ted,
Seems to be sonar-pro
here?
Yes, it works - but sonar-pro eats up APIcredits really fast and ran up several dollars in just a half-hour so I will switch back to Google Gemini.
I may change the Model Name to just ‘sonar’ instead of ‘sonar-pro’ and see what the difference is.
